The Icelandic Canadian Club of Edmonton was established in 1933 by Reverent Marteinsson.  Our heritage and culture are celebrated through annual events providing the community with a chance to experience Iceland through the Icelandic people who’s ancestors came to Canada.   Our operations are possible through memberships, fundraising events, and the generous donations of people.  You don’t have to be Icelandic to become a member. Our membership is open to everyone.  If you would like to volunteer for a fundraising activity, email us at

Icelandic Sale !

The sale of goods from Walter and Julie’s company, Icelandic Goods by Brendan, held July
28 at the library was very successful. There are some items remaining and they will be
sold at the Leif Eiriksson Dinner on Saturday, September 26 from 5pm to 6pm only
(so that those of us volunteering at the sale table can enjoy our dinner and evening). The
items will be sold at the same reduced price as the library sale – 80% off retail and
100%of the proceeds of the sale will be donated to the University Hospital on behalf of the
Sopher family.
The majority of the remaining woolen items are gloves, toques, vests, ear warmers, and
socks and there are a number of assorted Icelandic knick knacks.
Only cash will be accepted and please bring small bills as our ability to make change may be limited.
The sale will start at 5pm sharp and will end at 6pm sharp.
we wanted you also to know that the Thorgeirsson Family (Halldor and Bryndis) will be setting up a
table at the Leifur Eiriksson Dinner to sell their homemade Icelandic delicacies. Please check out their table – you are sure to be pleased!!
